Unlimited Books

Hi everyone!  My name is Ashley and reading is my favorite things to do.  I have another blog at unlimitedbookss.weebly.com    Check it out if you want to!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - J.K. Rowling, John Kerr Tiffany, Jack Thorne

Going into this book I was very cautious and worried.  I did not know if I was going to enjoy it in this format.  I was also very worried that it would read as a fanfiction.  I am so happy that I ended up enjoying this book.  It was so interesting reading about the children of those who were in the Harry Potter series.  The plot was interesting and it was just awesome.  I enjoyed it very much.  I wish that I could see this play in person to fall even more in love with it.

Slammed by Colleen Hoover

Slammed - Colleen Hoover

This was my first Colleen Hoover book and it was fantastic.  I fell in love with her writing style and how she tells the story.  The characters in this book were fantastic and there were so many surprises throughout the book.  I didn't expect to fall in love with this book as much as I did.  It was a fantastic read and I can't wait to finish reading this series.

Storm Glass by Maria V. Snyder

Storm Glass - Maria V. Snyder

It was fantastic to be in this world again.  This book is a spin off of Maria V. Snyder's Study series.  Some characters from that series appeared in this one and it was amazing.  I loved reading from the point of view of a magician who is very different from Yelena.  It was a great story and I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

The One by Kiera Cass

The One - Kiera Cass

This book was amazing.  I love this series so much.  There were so many surprises in this book and it was just amazing.  The One made me laugh and cry.  This book is definitely my favorite in the original trilogy.  I just can't believe that America's story is finally over.  I can't wait to get my hands on the other two books to read about her daughter!

A Radiant Sky by Jocelyn Davies

A Radiant Sky - Jocelyn Davies

Not gonna lie this was a bit of a disappointment.  I did not like how it all ended.  There was supposed to be a huge battle and it was a let down.  Skye did end up with who I wanted her to be with so I was happy about that.  Everything ended a bit to perfectly.  I feel like some things that the characters did were out of character.  I kept thinking "they would never do that."  It just annoyed me.

Assassin's Heart by Sarah Ahiers

Assassin's Heart - Sarah Ahiers

This book was entertaining and a great idea.  I loved the main character and the character development of her and the other characters.  I couldn't put this book down.  I really liked it.  It had been a while since I read a book involving assassins.  The concept of assassins in this world is so interesting and I loved it.

Amy & Roger's Epic Detour

Amy & Roger's Epic Detour - Morgan Matson

This book was fantastic.  It is such a great summer read and it makes the reader want to go on their own road trip.  The characters in this book were beautifully written and the developed in an amazing way.  Morgan Matson never fails to write an amazing contemporary novel.

A Fractured Light by Jocelyn Davies

A Fractured Light - Jocelyn Davies

I am in love with this trilogy.  I love how everything is unfolding.  There were some surprises in this book and I absolutely loved every single one of them.  I learned to love some of the characters that I had initially disliked.  The ending was just wow.  So many great things happened.  I can't wait to read the last book in the trilogy and see how everything ends!

Cinderella's Shoe by Shonna Slayton

Cinderella's Shoes - Shonna Slayton

This book fell a bit short for me.  The only thing that really interested me was what was happening with Kate's dad.  I felt the rest of the story was just boring and predictable.  The first book was so much better and I wish that the two books were combined into one.  It would make it a much better read in my opinion.  Some of the characters in this book really annoyed me and others were just pointless.  Not my favorite retelling of a fairy tale.

Remembrance by Meg Cabot

Remembrance: A Mediator Novel - Meg Cabot

It was so amazing to dive back into this world.  I didn't know how much I  missed these characters until I picked this up.  Every single character was as great as I remember them.  This was such an entertaining book to read and I just couldn't put it down.  I loved how this book was more for an older audience.  Meg Cabot basically wrote it for those who grew up reading her Mediator series.  It is much more mature than the first 6 books in this series.  I loved seeing how the characters had changed and also stayed the same.  This book was just so amazing.

A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies

A Beautiful Dark - Jocelyn Davies

This is a reread for me and I loved it just as much as I did the first time.  I love the characters of this story and their development.  I can see the characters slowly change and I just love them.  I have to admit that Asher was my favorite in this book.  I have read a lot of angel books and this one is so interesting to me.  Most of them just involve a girl having a forbidden romance with a fallen angel.  In this book there is so much more.  The main character is involved with the angel world in so many ways and it makes it unique in my opinion.

The Elite by Kiera Cass

The Elite - Kiera Cass

I am becoming obsessed with this series.  The Elite was a fantastic installment.  I was hooked from the first page and I could not put it down.  I read the entire book in one sitting.  This book took me on a roller coaster ride.  I felt so many emotions while reading this.  I was sad, happy, confused, amazed, and so many more great emotions.  The Selection is such an addictive series and I need the next one like right now.

The Mermaid's Madness by Jim C. Hines

The Mermaid's Madness - Jim C. Hines

Jim C. Hines does a great job with retellings.  He twisted the tale of the little mermaid into such an amazing story.  There were so many twists and turns in this book.  At some points I had no idea who to trust and who to believe.  I love it when books make me feel this way.  I can't wait to read the next two in this series and see how other fairy tales are retold and twisted.

The Selection by Kiera Cass

The Selection - Kiera Cass

Reading this book was so much fun.  It's that type of book that is so easy to read, but it's still amazing.  I flew through this book and I fell in love with the world and the characters.  I love America and her personality.  She does things her own way and is fine with standing out.  She doesn't want to be like everyone else and I love it.  I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Wucaii by Pembroke Sinclair

Wucaii - Pembroke Sinclair

This book had an interesting concept, but it fell short for me.  I could not get into this book and it seemed boring at times.

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Illuminae - Jay Kristoff, Amie Kaufman

It has been a while since I have read a really good science fiction book.  This one was amazing.  It was so unique since it was told through emails and messages and transcripts.  The story on its' own is fantastic and interesting but when it is told in this way it makes it even better.  There were so many moments where I had to put the book down because I couldn't believe something that happened in the book.  I love when books give me this kind of reaction.  I got so connected to Kady, one of the main characters in this book.  I can't believe how amazing and fantastic this book was.  I can't wait for the next book in the series.
